Tiny Adventures
A taste for nursery life at for parents
Patents were asked to come in for a chat and given the opportunity to see what the children do from day to day and look at their WOW folders.  We have had some lovely positive comments from parents which is always nice about the staff and how happy their children are with us at Tiny Adventures.

Tips for talking

Helping babies and young children learn skills for talking.  Ways we can support and develop communication.

Give them time to think.

Children need more time than adults to think about what they’ve heard, and to decide what to say back.  Give them time to respond, and look at them while you wait.

Activities
Parents had the opportunity to take part in the activities.  Rice play was popular with some parents who made lots of mess.  Fun was had with the mark making where paint is put under sticky back plastic so pictures can be made by marking the surface.  Some parents did the writing cards used in pre-school to develop writing skills.
WOW Folders
They love the WOW folders where there is a combination of art, comments, pictures, learning journeys the parents get to keep when the children leave.
In partnership with parents
The girls chatted with parents about home and nursery.  We work closely with our parents to ensure the time the children spend with us is happy and consistent.  We are always happy to give advice on potty training or other things in children’s development.
“The children seemed exceptionally well cared for and had their individual needs well catered for.  The nursery’s facilities were impressive and well resourced and the children were obviously having a fantastic time learning through play.”
Elizabeth Jarman bags
We sent home a number of Elizabeth Jarman Communication bags. When used, they will change an environment in an instant, creating a space that children and families will be drawn to. Engaging families in supporting children’s speaking and listening is essential.  The bags for Families offers children and their families a range of portable bags of resources to borrow, for them to use together in and around their home context to create a variety of Communication Friendly Spaces.  Using the bags can support more open communication between the nursery and home.
